Description

UNDP recognized the tremendous significance to harness Africa’s extractive industries for sustainable human development and therefore is supporting the AU’s Mining Vision and African Mineral Development Centre through a new major regional project. The extractive sector is expected to play a catalytic role for development in many African countries. Africa’s mining, oil and gas sectors are flourishing, benefitting from high commodity prices and improved exploration technologies.

In this regarard, UNDP AFIM is mandating a study to identify successful models, innovations and partnerships that can unleash the potential of the Private Sector to contribute to the implementation of Africa’s Mining Vision and other Africa-wide related Extractive Industry frameworks.
