Description

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental partners. With 175 member states, a further 8 states holding observer status and offices in 171 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
The United States has long been a safe haven for refugees from around the world. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is an important partner in advancing the United States policy objective of promoting safe, humane, and orderly migration. For decades as part of broader resettlement, migration health, and movement assistance programming, IOM has provided valuable support to the resettlement of refugees to the U.S. under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, USRAP activities inside Ukraine were temporarily suspended and the Migration Health Division (MHD) of IOM established a regional hub in Warsaw to continue health operations for beneficiaries displaced by the war to Poland and neighboring countries. Currently, there are estimated 3,000 refugees of primarily Afghan and Ukrainian origin in Germany and Poland in the pipeline for resettlement to the United States.
IOM’s Regional MHD Hub in Warsaw is seeking partnership with a healthcare/medical services providers in Germany and Poland to process approx. 2,000 individuals in Germany and approx. 1,000 in Poland.
The scope of work expected to be undertaken under the proposed arrangement is outlined in the table below and additional requirements listed. The table provides an indicative list of clinical, radiologic and laboratory examinations required for the health assessment of refugees in Germany and Poland. A formal service agreement is expected to be signed with the selected healthcare/medical services providers after the tender procedures are finalized. IOM MHD will provide mobile migration health team support, training and supervision/management to the selected clinic/s staff to effectively carry out the tasks.
