Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance to support Agence Nationale de l'Entrepreneuriat Congolais (ANADEC) by developing an incubation program for conservation agriculture and sustainable agroforestry in order to develop and scale sustainable technologies and practices. This technical assistance aims to produce a project document for the deployment of conservation agriculture and sustainable agroforestry approaches in the DRC, and to support the incubation of innovative and new businesses in this sector. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance as approved by National Designated Entity from DRC. The ANADEC is a public institution whose mission is to promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the development of entrepreneurship. It provides SMEs with specific services such as information, training, advisory assistance, mentoring, coaching and incubation. It was first established on January 5, 1973, by Law No. 73-011 and was modified and supplemented by Decree 21/02 of October 2, 2021, when it was made public and endowed with legal mandate and management autonomy. ANADEC promotes national entrepreneurship, through information, theoretical and practical training on entrepreneurs' access to project financing and public or private markets, to promote sustainable development. ANADEC seeks to develop an incubator programme which will be dedicated to providing tailored solutions to alleviate the barriers and encourage development, scaling and adoption of sustainable agricultural and agro-forestry practices in DRC. Incubator programmes can play a crucial role in developing endogenous solutions and promoting the uptake of Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable agro-forestry among smallholder farmers. By providing comprehensive support, facilitating access to inputs and equipment, and fostering knowledge exchange, these programmes can contribute to more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems. Some of the expected outputs are: a. Project Management b. Introduction of a stakeholder working group c. Technology landscape analysis d. Analysis of the national enabling environment for SMEs in the area of Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Agroforestry e. Design of an incubation programme within ANADEC f. Capacity building and communication The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
