Description
The United Nations is seeking expressions of interest from companies for the Provision of messenger, clerical support and archived records servicing at the UN Headquarters in New York City. The team of messengers and clerical personnel will occupy office space in a UN-occupied building. The messengers will service UN Offices located in twelve (12) buildings in New York City, all in close proximity to the Secretariat Building at First Avenue and 42nd Street. Service includes the pick-up, sorting and delivery of interoffice mail, and incoming mail delivered by Couriers and the United States Postal Services. Messengers are also utilized to deliver visa applications with national passports to foreign consultates in the Borough of Manhattan and retrieve them upon completion. Clerical personnel are involved in admministrative processing of travel documents and general office support, including some client service interaction. Periodically and/or seasonally, contract support personnel are required to work in the United Nations archival facilities to receive and process incoming boxes of paper records. Specific tasks would include sorting, shelving, bar-coding and scanning boxes, as well as assisting with the safe and secure disposal of material identified for destruction. Contractor responsibilities are administrative and operational. The initial contract term will be for three (3) years with the option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods at the sole discretion of the United Nations under the existing terms and conditions
