Description
The United Nations (UN) is a premier multilateral organization dedicated to maintaining world peace and security, promoting international collaboration, and defending human rights. To support its vast array of missions and activities around the globe, the UN requires robust, secure, and cost-effective terrestrial communication services. Currently, the communication systems employed (terrestrial, satellite, and wireless technologies) often fall short, particularly in remote or conflict-affected areas. 2. Scope of Services: The UN seeks to engage a global service provider to enhance and manage its terrestrial communication infrastructure. The scope includes: • Assessment and Analysis: Thorough evaluation of the current ICT infrastructure and detailed needs analysis. • Design: Development of a scalable, customized solution tailored to meet the diverse needs of various regions and adhere to UN specifications. • Procurement: Acquisition of all necessary equipment and software in compliance with UN standards. • Deployment: Implementation of solutions, including training for UN staff and documentation. • Operation, Monitoring, and Support: Ongoing operation, maintenance, and support, including technical assistance and troubleshooting. • Evaluation: Regular monitoring of service effectiveness and reporting to the UN. • Partnership: Establishment of partnerships with local and global communication providers. 3. Eligibility Criteria: Interested parties must demonstrate: • A proven track record in managing large-scale ICT projects. • Compliance with international agreements, regulations, and standards pertinent to terrestrial communications. • Ability to provide high-quality, reliable, and secure communication services. • Capacity to establish and maintain partnerships with key communication providers. 4. Submission of Interest: Eligible service providers are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) which should include: • Company profile and overview. • Evidence of experience and capability related to the scope of services. • Statements affirming adherence to UN norms and the ability to meet project requirements.
