Description
UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals in order to select a supplier for the provision of Capacity strengthening of water utilities (vodokanals) with capacity gap assessment, development of WASH training modules and training of trainers and staff from selected vodokanals. UNICEF proposes to develop a capacity development programme to strengthen the workforce among WASH service providers in Ukraine, equipping them with the necessary competence and skills for improved and more efficient WASH services, and with enhanced contingency capacity to address the current fragile situation of the sector, with a stronger outlook for efficiency and recovery, in line with EU integration. As the WASH sector undergoes critical reforms and technical modernizations, long-term capacity building is imperative. While comprehensive workforce development will require sustained investment, targeted training initiatives can address some of the most acute capacity needs. The training envisioned here focuses on transmitting the essential knowledge and skills to tangibly improve the quality and efficiency of WASH service delivery in the immediate term, making an important difference in communities across Ukraine.
