Description

Background

At UNICEF, sustainability is a core value. At the corporate level, UNICEF has recently launched its Sustainability and Climate Action Plan (SCAP). At a divisional level, UNICEF’s Supply Division (SD), recognizes the importance of incorporating sustainability as a practice and a value in its work across all 3 dimensions (environmental, social and economic) while balancing access to essential supplies and services for children and their families in need.

In the context of supplies, sustainability refers to the provision of top-tier, environmentally responsible, and economically viable products that are sourced from a robust, socially responsible, and diversified external supply network. This sustainable supply chain needs to be efficiently managed and supported by both UNICEF's operational and environmentally conscious Supply Division (SD), as well as its broader supply community. The implementation of sustainable supplies is a collaborative effort that involves governments and UNICEF programmes, with a special stance on emergencies.

Purpose of this REoI

To ensure that this vision can be achieved across UNICEF, through this initial exercise we are aiming to identify relevant service providers that can fulfil our sustainability services' needs. Furthermore, UNICEF wants to better understand the market offerings and stakeholders and create awareness ahead of an online industry consultation and a subsequent Request for Proposal for Services (RFPS) to take place in Q1 2024.

Procedure for submission of the REoI

Please find attached REoI document providing additional information related to this project, as well as a Response Form to be completed and returned as per instructions by 26th January 2024.
