New clarification added: Clarification:Dear UNOPS Lot 2 Dhamar Hospital Regarding to Mechanical HVAC worksSection 15741 item No 1.6.1 1 & 1.6.1.2Q.1 There is no mention for refrigerant pipes quantity that will be needed for connecting all ceiling suspended indoor units . It can't be included in the price of the units as it may reach to 25% of units price or even more depending on the number of suspended units and the covered area. UNOPS Answer: The refrigerant pipes should be included in the price of the VRF system, and the quantity is under the contractor's responsibility according to the final selected manufacturer. Regarding to Mechanical MG worksSection 5 section 15480Q2. Item No 6.1.1; there is no item for medical gas pipes trench in the BOQ, do we consider it included in the price of copper pipes, if so; what is the length and the specifications of that trench?UNOPS Answer: A separate item for the medical gases trench has been added to BoQ, A new item has been added to Div.3/ Item 2.4 (the amendment will be published soon). The new item is highlighted in yellow, Medical gases reinforced concrete trench was added in linear meter as item 2.4 as per drawing ST-GN-005. For the length and trench specifications refer to the Structural drawing No. ST-GN-005 / site MEP concrete trench typical section.Q3. There is no mention for medical isolation valves, does it included in the price of copper pipes, if so the price of copper pipes will be overpriced due to additional prices for trench & isolation valves? UNOPS Answer: Medical isolation valves are covered under AVSU, automatic manifold, etc... if there are any extra isolating valves we can’t see, yes, they should be included in the price of the copper pipes. Regarding the trench price it is included within the structural works, as per the amendment (which will be published soon) No.1, item 2.4. Regarding to Electrical Works Section 16122 feeding power cables Q4: Item No 16.10 from 16.10.a to 16.10. p which it will be laid on cables try inside the building and to the roof along hundreds meters of cable try with cover with dimensions 500*100mm which in many places its price exceeds the price of the cables itselves, if we include in the price of cables it will be overpriced. Also if another quantity is needed during the implementation, how it will be priced. UNOPS Answer: Its common practice that the consultant show the main route with the worst case sizing options for carrying the needed cables, however the contractor shall resubmit the cable trays drawings which shall show the final proposed route according to site condition, in addition the filling ratio calculations related to the cable trays, based on that and since we are working on existing buildings, its preferred to include the cable tray prices within the cables, also the item price shall not be such overpriced since you could submit a breakdown for the proposed cables. Q5: items No 16.10.q, r, s,t ; it was mentioned to be laid inside electrical trenches with concrete encasement and UPVC conduits, but again there is no items for trench length and manholes to be priced alone, so if its price should be included in the price of cables, the price will be doubled as the specifications showed 8*100 mm UPVC conduits per meter and 900*900*900 mm manholes for long distances. What should be done, should wait for BOQ to be reviewed or we go ahead and included the price of trenches and manholes. UNOPS Answer: It is recommended incorporating the cost of trenches and manholes into the cable items. Section 16710 fire detection system Q6: Item no 16.13, it was mentioned in the description that an automatic telephone dialer is needed to be installed, but it was not mentioned in the followed items quantity, how should be quoted? UNOPS Answer: It’s the common practice that the auto dialer is a part of FACP, so the price will be included with the FACP item. Q7: item No 16.13.l, it was mentioned that the G.I conduit * Galvanized conduits* to be used for wiring, is it only for outside wiring like using it on the roof or for both wiring? UNOPS Answer: GI conduits are used only for exposed fire Alarm cabling network where found, not for the roof only or external areas.Section 16690 & 16737 Q8. It was mentioned in the description that for wiring it may use galvanized cable tray which its price should be included in price of all data & CCTV points and from the drawings, from the drawings the law current cable tray covered only 20% of the building, what about the rest of the building, will PVC conduits be used? UNOPS Answer: The cable trays for data and telephone are for connecting the data cabinet with existing main data cabinet, however the points and sockets will be connected through PVC conduits.

New clarification added: Dear UNOPS,We have some inquiries about LOT 1 - Mechanical Works:For the AVSU boxes, we couldn't find a clear reference about the requested types of gases for each one. Please clarify the exact sources from where the master alarm panel shall get its signals. The same goes for the repeater alarm panel. There is a reference for BHUs inside BoQ, for which we will surely need more specific details on their configuration, while drawings file, there is a reference for rigid pendants (we will need to know the exact quantity for them).UNOPS Answer:It is clear on the medical gas drawings what are the types of gases for each AVSU.As mentioned at the BOQ it should be according and complying to HTM 0201.For Bed head Units, Horizontal. Please note that the head units (wall-to-wall) have been proposed to be locally custom-made, aluminum rectangle tube will be used, for two or more beds/Stretchers, as their width will be the width of the wall while maintaining a distance of 10 cm on each side. (Therefore, there is a difference in the number between BHU and the number of patient beds, and the number of BHU is less in most cases). The exact quantity of BHU as per the Rehabilitation Works BOQ Division 11, and Medical furniture drawings provided to you within the DD Package
