Background: The project aims at enhancing the overall well-being, health, and security conditions of Zimbabwe citizens through access to better urban basic services from sustainable solid waste management and the use of renewable energy systems; the project will also create systems for access to affordable carbon-neutral building materials. This will be achieved through improved municipal solid waste management operations, energy and resource recovery, clean energy generation and promotion of climate-responsive building material production. The project will enhance energy access to targeted communities by providing a reliable and renewable energy supply generated from locally available resources. One of the project outputs is to address the issue of building materials with special focus on waling materials. The project introduces and promotes the use of low-carbon brick making using the locally available materials, this way addresses the issue of air pollution and facilitates access to low-carbon bricks for the low-income communities. Scope of Works: The scope of work consists of the supply of one complete set of brick making facility and accessories equipment, installation, and commissioning of the facility. The requested scope of work includes supply of a semi-mechanized Brick factory producing three (3) million bricks per year, equivalent to 200 Housing Units Generic Specifications: Hydraulic Automatic clay brick machine Production line, Total Operating Power of the machine: 34.85 kw, Machine hydraulic pressure: 100--150 tons and Brick machine size: 2200(L)x1400(H)x2100(W)mm Further specifications will be shared when solicitation document is launched.
