Most NCD deaths are from cardiovascular disease (44%), followed by cancer (22%), chronic respiratory diseases (20%), and diabetes (14%). Moreover, the risk of premature death from NCDs between 30-70 years is around 36%. From our 2022 hospital admission data for the four NCDs, cancer accounted for half of the admissions (52%), followed by diabetes (20%), hypertension (19%), and ischaemic heart disease (9%).
