The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) has a requirement for the provision of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) to use in projects in Monrovia Metropolitan, at Roberts International Airport and Schiefflin in Liberia. Qualified contractors shall have the capacity to provide Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) as required following UNMIL rules and guidelines stated below: The Contractor shall conform to all applicable laws, regulations and ordinances promulgated by legally constituted authorities (i.e. Ministry of Commerce), and shall be responsible for obtaining all relevant certificates, permits and/or licenses, including but not limited to those for insurance, rental certificates, business registration, in accordance with applicable local and national laws and regulations. The Contractor shall be aware of and comply with all applicable international standards and local labor laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations pertaining to the employment of local and international staff in connection with the services in Liberia, including, without limitation, regulations associated with the payment of the employer’s portions of income tax, insurance, social security or other similar payments. The Contractor should have a verifiable track record of providing Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) or on similar contracts of comparable nature, size and value. The Contractor shall ensure that all of its personnel used to perform work or services in connection with this contract are medically fit to perform such work or services, and adequately covered by insurance for any service-related illness, injury, death or disability. The Contractor shall provide one Mobile Batch plant with minimum output capacity of 15 m3/hr of RMC and three (3) nos of Truck mounted transit mixers enclosed chutes with capacity to transfer minimum 6 m3 of RMC each. The Contractor shall provide certified Batch plant,(3)Truck mounted transit mixer enclosed chute and RMC shall be batched, mixed and transported in accordance with UNMIL mix recipe in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract in order to keep the RMC production at all times. Note the Contractor must guarantee that delivery time of RMC to the worksite shall be within 90 minutes from the Batch plant and to ensure avoidance of spillage of RMC during the transit along the streets or traffic. Contractor further guarantees that RMC shall be in a plastic and unhardened state from the Batch plant and all equipment are inspected by competent personnel at the prescribed intervals. Copies of these inspections are to be submitted to UNMIL upon request.
