Project Scope Statement

 

Business Objectives

The objective of the IT BCM – Disaster Recovery Quality Assurance (QA) project is to provide quality assurance support for the IT BCP-D/R project. The approach for delivering QA support during 2013 will ensure that the OT BCP-D/R project will be completed and delivered in quality manner and its deliverables transparent. The project is envisioned in three phases:

- Establish internal QA role,

- Bi-weekly alignment on internal QA activities, and

- Execute and delivery.

By completing the IT BCM – Disaster Recovery Quality Assurance project, all the stages of the Business Continuity Management implementation life cycle will be done, in line with the delivery (implementation) of the BCP-D/R project. The next two stages include utilization of the IT Continuity Planning (developing the response – Disaster Recovery Plan). Upon the BCP-D/R implementation, the operational exercising, maintenance and audit of implemented BCM measures shall be done by the organization on regular basis.

Deliverables

  • Established internal QA support for the BCM execution
  • QA support for programme and SLA management
  • Selection of supporting BCM tooling
  • BCM/DR process design evaluation
  • BCM/DR process implementation evaluation
  • BCM governance process evaluation

The IT BCM – Disaster Recovery Quality Assurance implementation will support and contribute to the implementation of the IT BCP-D/R project and should enable the ICT and ICC in the:

-        Development, structuring and utilization of the crisis management organization and structure

-        Identification which processes and procedures are required, based on good practice

-        Additions to existing crisis management procedures

-        Focus activities on processes and procedures in realization of  resilience in the IT environment, processes for IT recovery                      and procedures for IT staff

-        Performing a tabletop tests

-        Identification of tooling that supports BCM

-        Allowing cost savings through improvements and higher efficiency of IT Continuity processes

-        Delivery on budget.

Justification

Benefits include but not limited only to the following:

-          Leveraged the crisis management organization, structure and procedures

-          Evaluated BCM/DR implementation process

-          Supported Key Stakeholders awareness, review and approval process for BCP-D/R deliverables

-          Support in delivery of designed measures, controls and countermeasures required by the control framework, as minimum requirements for management of ICTS systems and landscapes.
