Gamma Camera Equipment

The IAEA requires a field deployable gamma camera (hereinafter referred to as ‘the System’). The System will be used in source search and recovery efforts and for site characterization and shall be handheld and portable by a single user. It shall be able to detect gamma-ray photons and be capable of displaying its measurements overlaid on an digital image of a scene of the environment such that the area in the image where the photons are originating from is indicated. Images of the area shall be captured in colour and the resultant contour plots of the gamma-rays are to be generated in colour. The System shall further be capable of capturing real-time changes in a sufficiently activity environment and displaying the results to the user.
