Description
The United Nations Support Office for AMISOM (UNSOA) intends to launch a tender for the sale of Scrap Metal for the purpose of smelting, compression or resale, on “as is, where is” basis. Scrap Metal will include but it is not limited to written off assets of metal nature, vehicle shells, vehicle parts, metal furniture, metal window frames, metal drums etc. The Contractor will be completely responsible for collection, removal and smelting/compacting or disposal of the Scrap Metal generated by UNSOA from its Collection Yards located in Mombasa, Kenya and Mogadishu, Somalia. The collected Scrap Metal will be safely removed by Contractor and smelted or compacted at approved sites or facilities in accordance with international standards and safety measures and following the procedures required by local and international rules and regulations. The contractor must be certified, registered and licensed to practice such type of service from the respective country where the scrap will end for eventual disposal. The Subject Contract is intended for an initial one-year period with an option to extend under the same terms and conditions at UNSOA’s sole discretion for an additional two (1+1) year period. Companies interested to participate in the tender are requested to submit their EOI by fax or e-mail as indicated above. This Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) does not constitute a solicitation. UNSOA reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during EOI and/or solicitation process. Submission of a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that such firm will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Only vendors, deemed qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their submission of EOI, will receive the final tender solicitation document.
