Description

RFP for a Long-Term Arrangement with a company/s to provide customs clearance services as well as freight forwarding services for UNICEF supplies with an anticipated validity of three (3) years.

Scope of work:

Customs clearance –

Based on the receipt of required documentation from UNICEF, the clearing agent will perform all necessary activities for pre-customs clearance and clearance for air shipments through Khartoum Airport. UNICEF expects goods to be cleared from customs in a timeframe which avoids any demurrage charges. Customs clearance fees specified by the Sudanese Authority apply.

Freight Forwarding –

The freight forwarder will transport UNICEF supplies from Khartoum Airport to UNICEF Sudan Country Office (UNICEF warehouse, supplier premises, customs facility, National Medicines Supply Fund/ NMSF or other location as specified) and deliver the goods within an agreed upon timeframe to a specified location (normally within one day). The freight forwarder will be required to have trained and expert staff and be available to perform transport services within 6 hours upon completion of customs clearance. The freight forwarder will be responsible for the vehicle(s) used, drivers and cargo insurance. The in-land transportation fee schedule will be agreed upon and incorporated into the LTA.
