Description
As part of efforts to mitigate the risks from obsolete POPs pesticides, the Global Environment Facility approved the GEF/FAO project “Disposal of Obsolete Pesticides including POPs and Strengthening Pesticide Management in the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) Member States” (GEF ID 4740) in 2014. A key component under this project, amongst other objectives for improved pesticide management, is the safeguarding and disposal of POPs pesticides and other obsolete pesticides in an environmentally safe and sound manner, stemming from eight countries in West Africa.
This tender is for the provision of “Safeguarding, international transport and disposal of obsolete pesticides stocks by high temperature incineration from countries in the CILSS region” divided into lots as follows:
Lot 1 Burkina Faso & Niger (178 tons) – Lot 2 Chad (36.8 tons) – Lot 3 Mauritania (146.5 tons) and Lot 4 Cabo Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal (142.7 tons)
