UNAKRT REOI Translation Services of Khmer into English

1. As part of the Court proceedings, the United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials (UNAKRT) is seeking professional translation service for Translations from Khmer into English. 2. The period of engagement is expected to be one (1) year starting from 01 January 2013 through 31 December 2013 and the number of words requiring is currently estimated to be approximately 7,500 pages. 3. Interested vendors will be required to meet the following criteria: a. Provide high quality professional translations within the timeframe of 20 pages per day. b. All translators meet the formal requirements for the Court’s translators (Bachelor or Master degree in the field of Foreign Language, especially in English, or in the field of law, or equivalent diploma; for translators into and from Khmer: translation experience in English; fluency in written and spoken Khmer and English); c. Demonstrated experience in translating complex litigation-related documents (such as motions, witness statement, indictments, judgments, etc.), or legal materials of similar complexity (e.g. contracts, statutes, etc.), Khmer Rouge historical documents; and d. Agreed to comply with the strictest obligations of confidentiality. e. UNAKRT encourages local vendors to bid on this contract (s). 4.
