The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) wishes to decarbonize its energy supply systems and reduce its environmental footprint. The Mission has an overall objective of transitioning to renewable energy sources to gradually achieve the UN Secretary General’s target for reaching 80% renewable energy by 2030. To achieve these ambitious objectives, UNFICYP wishes to explore the available market options to source renewable energy for its sites, from an authorized Supplier in Cyprus. The Supplier will sell electricity to UNFICYP at an all-inclusive rate, with a 100% guarantee of origin from renewable energy sources. The amount of renewable energy required is approximately 3.5 GWh annually, which will be delivered through a decentralized renewable energy power plants and connected to the grid of the electricity authority of Cyprus (EAC). The Supplier must possess or have the ability to obtain all the necessary authorizations from the local authorities, to perform required services for a projected period of five (5) years with a possible extension of an additional five (5) years.
