The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) is seeking the professional services of an experienced contracting firm for the execution of revamping and remodeling works in line with state of the art modern open office standards in an intelligent building setup increasing the overall space utilization while optimizing usability, sustainability and comfort. The works will cover three lots as follows: Accessibility The works shall include the execution of some modifications in the UN house for accessibility enhancement and beautification purposes. The objective is to enhance the entrance to the UN House making it accessible for everyone, which requires modifying the pedestrian path to ESCWA building from the main street and constructing two new ramps in the Gibran Khalil Garden. In addition, common accessibility features shall be added in specific locations inside the building as well. Cafeteria: The works consists of the beautification and revamping of the UN House cafeteria of UNESCWA Building Riad El Solh, Beirut. The purpose is to totally refurbish the cafeteria and improve its functionality, upgrade the ventilation and air cooling systems, add new lighting systems, purchase and install new advanced kitchen equipment, utensils and furniture. The prospective contractor shall have experience in commercial kitchens in compliance with international requirements and standards. New Storage area in B-1 Consists of the construction of a new warehouse in the parking at the basement level 1. The new storage facility will consist of four adjacent storage rooms that will be constructed using hollow blocks, shall have epoxy floor coatings that can withstand the daily wear-and-tear that goes on in warehouses, security cameras, lighting, power and data connections. The warehouse shall be constructed taking into consideration the storage capacity, the required cooling system, safety measures for storing chemicals and other special features. Firms that express interest will be invited to participate in the solicitation document which will be based on a detailed Scope of Work, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related requirements and documents. Please note that UNESCWA precludes entering into a contract with a firm that is not fully registered in UNGM. For registration in UNGM, please refer to the notice, in the "Vendor Response Form" attached hereto. This EOI does not constitute a solicitation. The United Nations reserve the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time in the EOI and/or solicitation process.
