Description
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched new Request for Proposal (RFP) the provision of “Risk mapping for early detection and control of Foot-and-Mouth and other similar transboundary animal diseases (FAST diseases)". The requested services include: 1) Development of three training schemes (basic, intermediate, advanced) and deliver training workshops to assist the EuFMD to put in place an operational risk mapping, GIS and spatial modelling community of practice in the European neighborhood formed by national experts capable of collecting data, share information, produce national and regional risk maps to support the monitoring, management, early response and reporting of FAST disease events; 2) Assistance to the EuFMD Member Nations neighboring countries in selecting open access software tools; and 3) Assistance to the EuFMD in spatial modelling and GIS training with focus on FAST diseases (FMD, LSD, SPGP, PPR, RVF) in both English and French languages.
