Would be kind to share with all potential suppliers the space allocated for The UPS and battery rack space of this location? Do we have enough space to accommodate the UPS and the battery rack unit installation in one space? Do we run long distance cables between the UPS and the battery unit and the Power connecting point? 2. Can you precise the application : 1.a.: 2x40kVA to be redundant on a single 40kVA load (1+1 redundancy)OR 1.b.: 1x40kVA (with N+1 redundancy capability) for 1 40 kVA load + 1x40kVA (with N+1 redundancy capability) for 1 40 kVA load (2 loads of 40kVA in total). In case you are intending to use 2x40kVA UPS together to protect 1 40kVA load, would you accept 1 modular UPS rackable cabinet with 3x25kW redundant power modules? (N+1 redundancy).UNOPS response:1.Our partner has enough space in their data center that can handle the UPS and the battery rack. The distance between the power connection point to the UPS is approximately 20 meters.2. The UPS is needed for two separate Data Centers. Thus, 1x40kVA (with N+1 redundancy capability) for 1 40 kVA load + 1x40kVA (with N+1 redundancy capability) for 1 40 kVA load (2 loads of 40kVA in total) but it can be modular. With regards,

New clarification added: Dear Bidders, Please see below clarifications provided against request received from interested bidder:Bidder`s request:1.We are interested in bidding in this tender but we can see you ask for the bidder to have a local representative/Agent in Ethiopia. We do not have a representation but the producers we represent do, so the offered products can be repaired under warranty if needed. Is this OK?2. We are interested in this bid. However, we would like to participate as a joint venture with our partner in Europe that is qualified and can supply all the goods directly to you. Question;i.- Can our partner be the main supplier [we being the local representative ] and give you a quote?ii.- If awarded, would payment be transferred directly to our partner?UNOPS response:1. Obviously 40mins at 40kVA will be more expensive.2. Would be able to elaborate the following parameters?UPS RedundancyN+1 or N+x or betterUPS ArchitecturePARALLELMount typeRack mountedBatteryBuilt in or External cabinet with required communication and manageable accessories3. Do you want 2x 400V Modular 45kVA UPS (with 5x 15kW Power Modules) N+1 in parallel?4. I am working with APC on the UPS for this request and they are not sure what to offer based on the long list of details your provided as none match the request. They ask if it is possible for you to provide the make and model for the 40KVA you had in mind when presenting the required specifications.UNOPS response:The required battery system is a minimum of 30 minutes.We need modular UPS (expansion rack capacity to 60KVA) with configurable characteristics. So the architecture of the UPS should be parallel for redundancy configuration ( as we requested two UPSs(40KVA), they need to have such capability for redundancy). Any three phase Modular UPS that meet the minimum specification stated under Section II - Schedule of requirement and with AC output voltage 220V for the end terminals is acceptablePlease note that the technical specifications are brand neutral. New clarification added: Dear Bidders, Please see below clarifications provided against request received from interested bidder:Bidder`s request:During our search for the UPS that accomplishes all the requirements, we need clarification on the rack capacity.We do not really know if this issue is referred to the UPS capacity itself, or the capacity of the UPS batteries, and its relationship with the 40 KVA requirement.UNOPS response:A modular UPS system is built from a combination of individual UPS modules that are linked and work together.Modular UPS systems are housed in racks, The rack capacity is the maximum capacity that the rack can house (60KVA).
