Description

Project Aim

To institutionalise the AGYW peer mentor model in six districts in three provinces (Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg in Gauteng; Zululand and eThekwini in Kwazulu-Natal and Sekhukhune in Limpopo) and to build the capacity of district and partners to implement, monitor and support the programmes to ensure the sustainability and scaling of the programme in the six districts and beyond.

Objectives
1.   Provide Technical Assistance to the implement the full package of the AGYW peer mentor services in the current and interested districts including male involvement and the provision of PrEP to eligible clients including improving the quality of services, targeting postnatal services (post-natal clubs, young mom clubs and the e-service
delivery platform for follow-up).
2.  Provide ongoing monitoring and analysis and use program data to improve implementation of the package of services.
3. Scale up post-natal clubs.
4.  Increase the reach of the programme to 50,000 pregnant and breastfeeding adolescent girls and young women through training, mentoring and support of district support partners and the Department of Health.
5. Capacity building for partners and institutionalization of the programme in the six existing project sites through advocacy for peer mentor stipends and technical assistance.
