Development of Green Building Standards for Zimbabwe

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance to develop green building standards in Zimbabwe. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance. The overall objective of this technical assistance is to introduce green building standards for enhanced energy efficiency in three building types (residential buildings, office buildings, and commercial complexes) and introduce effective mechanisms for their operationalization in Zimbabwe. Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Introduction of project coordination mechanism • Assessment of building groups and regulations in Zimbabwe, and diagnosis of technological needs • Development of green building standards and policy guidelines • Development of effective mechanisms and tools for the implementation of building standards • Development of an effective monitoring, verification and enforcement (MV&E) framework • Map relevant stakeholders and establish a stakeholder working group The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
