Call for Expression of Interest
Procurement of Seeds for HAITI
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for it operations in HAITI is interested in pre-identifying local and regional seed dealers and producers of specific crops and varieties from the Central American Region and The Caribbean. In this context, FAO is publishing this Expression of Interest.
FAO invites potential suppliers to express their interest in supplying the below mentioned items. The Expression of Interest should specify FAO reference number CEI/01/2008 and must be received no later than Close of Business COB 26 May 2008 .
The Expression of Interest must include the following:
· A profile of the company, association or institution.
· Confirmation of relevant supply experience for the required items.
· References of at least three customers from the past three years.
· Contact details of the person to whom the bidding documents must be sent.
The subsequent bidding document and awarded purchase order(s) will be issued in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of FAO and in compliance with FAO General Terms and Conditions.

When replying to this email, please note the following:
1. The seed should NOT BE HYBRID OR GMO SEED.
2. If the requested varieties are not available, please indicate similar available varieties of the relevant crop with similar varietal characteristics as those in the table.
3. Please indicate if the seed is certified, commercial seed and the quality parameter of the seed (physical purity, varietal purity, germination % and moisture content).
4. Please indicate in which countries of Central America and/or the Caribbean in which this is a release variety and widely grown.
5. Please express your interest by replying to this request before COB Monday 26th May 2008 .
6. Please indicate the number of tonnes available before end of May; the number of tonnes available before end of June and the number of tonnes available before end October 2008.
7. This is not a tender, and does not constitute any engagement on the part of FAO in terms of procuring seeds. Based on the info rmation received FAO will later contact suppliers through a formal tender invitation.
8. Please ensure that NO financial info rmation is included in your response.
9. The eventual procurement will be undertaken on FCA/DDU Incoterms 2000 basis.
