Data and Research Consultant, Education in Emergencies (EIE) - open to individuals only
United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Institute for Statistics (UIS) hereby invites qualified individuals to apply as follows:
Emergencies and population displacement pose new challenges to every region of the world. One of the key challenges is the lack of accurate, reliable and timely data, needed to strengthen systems for humanitarian assistance and to guide effective education responses. Information on education of crisis-affected and displaced populations is currently based on data collection mechanisms associated with programmes implemented by different organizations. Often, these data sources cannot be compared or readily interpreted because they lack standardized concepts and definitions and because they are based on diverse processing and verification procedures.
In order to address these challenges, UIS is seeking a Data and Research Consultant to support the Futures and Innovation’s team in the development and elaboration of the EiE project portfolio. The consultant will work as part of the team in conceptualising the EiE statistical framework, conducting mapping and consolidation of indicators, data and methodologies on EiE and producing research outputs that elaborates the current state-of-the-evidence on EiE.
