Amendment #1 - IRAQ-LITB-009-2020-9159109 - Purchase and Delivery of New analog water desalination unit (15 M3/day) to Sinjar
Dear Sir / Madam,
Thank you for your inquiries.
Kindly find below the answers to queries that were raised by vendors for your information.
1.Question: 20 x membranes at normal market price cost around 10’000 USD (including shipment)
- Answer: The number of the spare part membranes will remain 20 units and no need to be reduced. No flexibility at this stage.
2. Question: We are offering Dow Filmtec membranes – we need to check with the manufacturer what warranty they are giving.
- Answer: The warranty is including the provision of official letter form the manufacturer with 8-10 years warranty during submission of his offer. The supplier’s main responsibility will not be counted within these 8-10 years but on the provision of the official warranty document. The village committee will be in charge on storing and future maintenance. However, the guarantee of the work and the proper operation of the provided/installed system will be supplier’s responsibility.
3. Question: According to the technical specification, the raw water is brackish water. In the bid it is mentioned: “2 HP 220V Motor”; but on the other hand, it is written: “Voltage Options: 220-240VAC single or three phase Power <1200 Watts on 24,000 PPM salinity”. 2 HP motor is not suitable for salinity of 24,000 PPM. Please clarify.
Answer: It depends on the type of pump that you are using of the RO system. I can confirm the availability of high performance pumps quality but with 50% product water recovery rate that is suitable for input water up to 25,000ppm and only with 2HP mentor!
For example, in brackish source water of 24,000 ppm, some RO unit only demand about 2.5 Watts per Liter or less at 50% recovery. Brackish water at 5,000 ppm would demand less than 2 watts per liter and only 300 psi (20 bar). The type of water we have ( see the water lab. test) is between 3,000 to 4,000 PPM which will need less than 2HP ( less than 2 Watt) but the submitted offer should be able to deal up to 24,000 PPM for future considerations.
4. Question: Can you share the water lab test? Answer: The water lab test is attached for your information. See the attachment ( pdf file.. water lab test #2 ).
5 Question: The RO system is a new system that will be connected to existing shallow borehole (water source) and will be installed inside an allocated room. Answer: The supplier should read the attached RO specifications. “additional” is a very general word.
6 Question: Vendor should supply and install? Answer: We confirm the installation is required staring from the point of connection form the borehole to the RO system and to the outlet tank.
7 Question: Will you please confirm that this query is open for all nationalities / UNICEF is awarding contract based on price, quality and best delivery for the best interest of the organization, and the incoterm is DPU.
8. Question: confirm if the mentioned capacity (15 M3/day) is correct, saying such capacity is not enough for one family. Answer: It is confirmed, it should be 15m3/day or ( 1500 lit/hr).
9. Question: The softener is single or duplex? Answer: The softener to be duplex.
10. Question: Type of filter (As we asked preferred to be Carbon)? Answer: If your question related to Pre-filtration assembly, then the filter should not be Carbon but to be Fibric Filter so that to control the movement of solid particles.
