Description

The United Nations University (UNU) is undertaking a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a consultancy firm to provide UNU with the following consultancy services of external evaluation of its ICT ecosystem: 

  1. Map the ICT needs of UNU, including at UNU Centre (Tokyo) and across all of its institutes (13 institutes) in the world;
  2. Point out any gaps in the current governance framework and structure, including the relevance, monitoring and implementation of the ICT strategic plan;
  3. Review UNU’s ICT existing structure, including its current personnel capacity and workload, succession planning and talent retention, training of IT personnel including efforts to stay abreast of emerging technologies, efficiency of working methods, processes and workflows;
  4. Assess UNU’s ICT security posture by taking into account the centrally managed ICT systems as well as decentralized, institute-managed systems, assess the costs and benefits of this set-up, and evaluate UNU’s ability to respond to ICT security threats; and
  5. Offer  suggestions to close any observed ICT security gaps at UNU and/or to its current ICT governance framework.

Note: The bidding company should have a convenient access to the UNU-Centre in Tokyo for site surveys and meetings when necessary although communication will be encouraged through video conferencing most of the time.
