Request for Information for the provision of Patient-to-Patient Blood Transfusion Kits
The United Nations is sending a Request for Information for the provision of Patient-to-Patient Blood Transfusion Kits. • Medical support to United Nations peacekeeping missions currently includes the provision of packed red blood cells (RBCs). • With the disruption of transport services resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the United Nations is seeking to provide our missions with patient-to-patient transfusion capabilities to collect and transfuse fresh whole blood and for which the provision of pre-packaged blood transfusion kits is elemental. • Collection and transfusion will be undertaken in a hospital setting and performed by trained medical officers and used when usual supplies of RBCs are unavailable in life-threatening situations caused by bleeding. • A one-time purchase of approximately 305 patient-to-patient transfusion kits is required. The UN is requesting the following information: 1. Your interest and capability to offer these items as a kit. Please provide a short summary of why your company would be in a good position to deliver these kits (including past experiences for similar purchases, areas of expertise, etc.) 2. A paper outlining the technical characteristics of each item offered and its features (including pictures and brochures), as well as information on compliance and quality standards, export restrictions, licensing and regulatory authority for the kits and its components 3. A cost estimate for the kits and its individual costs including potential incoterm 2010 preferred and lead times for earliest delivery.
