Please find also below answers to questions that were raised by different vendors:

In relation to your paragraph 1) Technical specifications:

  1. Question: Is the system replacing an old system and intended to be installed in a specific existing space?

Answer: There is no old system but totally new system ( RO unit ) that will be installed and connected to exiting shallow borehole (main water source) and will be installed inside a concrete room (4x6)m. See the photo of the water source:

  1. Question: Is it possible to deliver a system preinstalled and ready to use in a 6 feet standard container?

Answer: For any supplied system, it must efficiently and effectively produce and provide safe drinking water, but we are flexible with any dimensions of the container provided that to be suitable with the suggested system.

2. Question: The production capacity of 20 m3 per day.

a. Is this an exact mandatory requirement as our standard production line systems deliver either 500 liters/hour or 1200 liters/hour?

b. Is it possible to offer both as options?

Answer: 1,200 is not accepted. RO unit must produce 20m3/day as reflected in the ITB. Neither offering 2 systems, knowing that the day is considered 10 hours for operation.

3. Question: Frame size of 135cm x 102cm x 71cm.

a. Are these sizes mandatory, or can a somewhat bigger size be used?

Answer: We are flexible with suitable dimensions of the container.

4. Question: Rugged, powder-coated 304 stainless steel frame.

a. Is this a mandatory requirement or is it possible to use an anodised aluminum frame?

Answer: The Aluminum frame is not accepted due to Chlorine, which could be used in the future when Chlorination units are installed with the system.

5. Question: Based on provided information the hardness of the source water is quite high.

a. Do you expect the system to include a water softening system before the reverse osmosis process?

Answer: Better to have water softener. Agree.

6. Question: What are the Iraqi water quality standards you are referring to?

Answer: Kindly refer to the updated description in the ITB for the required standards for the water produced from RO units.

7. Question: To our experience there is no significant benefit from energy recovery systems in small scale brackish water RO- units.

a. Is it necessary to be included?

Answer: Yes, it is mandatory since the pressure exchangers save energy in these systems by reducing the load on the high-pressure pump.

In relation to your paragraph 4) Additional items:

8. Question: Is this a list of spare parts to be included or is this list referring to and complementing the technical specifications already mentioned in paragraph 1) Technical specifications?

Answer: They are not spare parts, but essential component must be included to the water RO-unit. For example:

VFD Speed Control

The variable frequency drive (VFD) to control the high-pressure pump motor's rotational speed in the RO unit.

But, kindly refer to the updated description in the ITB with the list of the Spare Parts needed.
