The United Nations Office for Project Services (hereinafter referred to as UNOPS) is pleased to invite prospective bidders to submit their bids for the Supply and delivery of Research Micropscopes for the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia., in accordance with UNOPS General Conditions of Contract and the Schedule of Requirements as set out in this Invitation to Bid (ITB).

New clarification added: Dear Bidders,The following request for clarification has been received from potential bidders. Kindly prepare and submit your response accordingly.Request: If we keep our bid the same as it was after the first amendment, do we need to replace our filled in forms with the revised forms?Response: the amendments are mainly for LOT 2 and the requirement has slight change from the initially posted requirement for the lot. Bidders are therefore need to carefully ready the changes and submit or resubmit their bids.Kind regards,

New clarification added: Dear Bidders,Please find below clarifications given to the requests raised by potential bidders:Lot 2 - Stereo zoom Microscope with digital camera - In the 2nd Amendment of Section II, one specification is "Two different revolving nosepieces each having two objectives at a time." But in fact,Kind to clarify if one microscope will be equipped with two nosepiece?A microscope can only be equipped with one nosepiece, and a nosepiece can only be equipped with two objectives at the same time. Response: Revolving nosepiece having two objectives at a time. The magnification of the objectives are 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x. Please inform if you require Three (3) objectives : 0.5x, 1x, and 1.5x or Four (4) Objectives: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x. The amended requirements is for 3 objectives as per requirenment sheet.Please clarify. Response: As it is shown clearly on the Schedule of requirements 4 objectives with a magnification of 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x are requested.Kindly prepare and submit your bids accordingly.Best regards,

Please consider these documents in the preparation of your submissions..Stereo zoom Microscope with digital camera:The following requirement and criteria have been included or modified in the documents to further clarify the requirement of this equipment:The optical body rotation has been revised in the following manner:· Optical body rotation: Microscope zoom body with high N.A & resolution a minimum of 400 LP/mm at 1x objective or better compatible withTwo different revolving nosepieces each having two objectives at a time.The magnifications of the objectives are 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x.The magnification range has been revised in the followign manner:·Magnification range should be 10x or lower to 120x or higherThe bid submission date has been extended to February 21, 2020, (9:00UTC)Bidders are therefore advised to prepare their submission accordingly.Thanks,

New clarification added: Dear Dear bidders,Please find a clarification given to poterntial bidders Please inform if the local agent is must?Response: Yes bidders must have local agent.Please note that 400 LP/mm with 1x objective does not exist this is only possible with 1.5x objective therefore please change the requirement accordingly.Response: there exists a minimum of 400 LP/mm with 1x objective and bidders ar e advised t osubmit their bids per the requirementAlso 3x nose piece revolver does not exist only 2x.Response: regarding the revolving nosepiece please propose your submission as per the information given belowThe magnifications of the objectives are 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x and 2x.Magnification range should be 10x or lower to 120x or higherYou required in Section II:"The Microscopes are need for research and development purpose and will be distributed to different parts of the country." So knid to clarify the number of the different places in Ethiopia, where microscopes are going to be distributed. Accordingly, we can calculate the costs of installation, commissioning and trainings. Response: the exact sites/ locations are yet to be determined. Bidders are advised take note that distribution will be handled by UNOPS. Bidders may consider Bahirdar, Mekelle Addis Ababa, Arbaminch and Hawassa in the calculation of the training, installation and related costs. Bidders are also advised to indicate this cost (if any) separately from the material/ item cost..ref to the additional required docments ,National Business Registeration Certificate & Valid Liceses is there any registeration at Ethiopia as we have manufacturing & exporst license . Therefore pl clarify if regtn at Ethiopia is required Response: there is no registeration requuirment. Bidders do not need to register in Ethiopia. The requirement is for thebusiness licnse/ registeration at their respective countriesPerformance Guarantee - if selected for the contract, theperformanace guarantee to be submitted , is this mandatory . further is this to be submitted by Ethopian bank only . New clarification added: Dear Bidders,Please note the below clarifications given t obidders:Request:I have already submitted my docs, I need to include the ISO 14001 certificate but because I submitted on Friday I can’t add any more doc’s. I also cannot change the pricing schedule to add an extended (2 year) warranty. I am not sure if you could send a clarification request to ask how to add/ remove documents after the bid was submitted – I see that the deadline has been extended and changes have been made on the day of original submission.Clarification:The bid closing date is now extended to February 17, 2020. Those bidders that have already submitted their bids can amend and/ or include additional documents or remove thir submission. The e-sourcing platform allows bidders to do so until the bid closing date and time.

New clarification added: Dear SirDear Bidders, Plesase not th following clarifications given to the requestes received from potential bidders. Kindly repare and submit your bids acccordingly.Please clarify the different places in Ethiopia, where microscopes are going to be distributed because we need to calculate the costs of freight, installation, commissioning and trainings. Also clarify the exact delivery time as it is mentioned 90 days in Specifications, Section II: Schedule of Requirements and 60 days in Technical Bid Form.Response: the delivery place for the microscopes is Addis Ababa, the EIAR warehouse. The Partner/ UNOPS will be responsible for delivering the goods to their final destination.The microscopes need to be delivered within 60 days.You request an working distance of 60 mm but the working distance depends on the objective used. The higher the magnification the lower the working distance is. Objective 0.5x working distance 189 mm, objective 1x working distance 78 mm, objective 1.5x working distance 44 mm.; Response; UNOPS is working on the amendment of Section II and Section III of the ITB. Kindly note the changes and prepare the ITB accordingly You request an resolution of minimum 500 lp/mm but the resolution depend on the magnification. The higher the magnification the higher resolution. Objective 0.5x resolution 47 - 164 lp/mm, objective 1x 95 - 328 lp/mm, objective 1.5x 95 - 516 lp/mm.
