1. Background
The ‘Our Ocean’ Conference (OOC) Series: Initiated in 2014 by the US State Department, spearheaded by former Secretary of State John Kerry and attended by former President Barack Obama, the Our Ocean Conference series has elevated ocean issues on the global foreign policy agenda and catalysed political will on actions to preserve global ocean health, including translating commitments into activities that have significantly enhanced the sustainability of oceans.
Participation level at OOC has topped 1000+ over the years, and has included the presence of Heads of State, CEOs and executive representatives of global companies, heads of large philanthropic organizations, global funds, and international NGOs, as well as, members of the Royal families of Monaco, Sweden and Jordan.
Due to its significance Palau will thus convene OOC 2020.
2. Brief description of Scope of Bid
The summary of work will be rehabilitation of access road to Ernguul Park area, BPS Building and PCC parking yard, and parking yards of the Council of Chiefs Office and OEK Satellite Office.
The specific works include:
- Saw cutting and stripping of damaged asphalt, excavation and disposal of damaged basecourse and sub-base, and backfilling and compaction.
- Excavation to sub-grade level for the new pavement and disposal of excavated soil.
- Laying and compaction of basecourse.
- Application of prime coat & tact coat.
- Overlaying 2” or 3” hot mix asphalt surface over the basecourse as may be case.
- Construction of drain.
- Construction of concrete gutters.
- Road and parking markings with paints as specified therein.
