Description
ITC is currently implementing the trade-related component of the EU-Nepal Trade and Investment Programme (TIP), which is funded by the European Union (EU). The project will assist the Government of Nepal to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction by increasing trade and participation in regional and global value-chains. The trade policy component of the programme aims to strengthen institutional capacity for trade policy and strategy formulation, trade negotiation and implementation of trade policy reforms with the active engagement of the private sector. - The direct beneficiary for this action is the Government of Nepal, in particular the: • Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) officers, who are responsible for trade policy formulation and trade negotiations; • World Trade Organization (WTO) focal points from other national institutions and ministries in Nepal such as Customs, Ministry of Agriculture among others; • Relevant government officers from the provincial governments; and • Selected professors or master trainers from a local university or training institution.
