CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

Important: The purpose of this call for EOI is to identify appropriate suppliers who can potentially fulfil the requirements. The present call for EOI does not constitute an invitation to tender. Only suppliers deemed qualified by ITC will receive the invitation to tender.

Terms of Reference (summary):

Under the MARKUP Burundi project funded by the European Union, ITC intends to procure laboratory equipment for the following entities in Burundi: Bureau Burundais de Normalisation et Contrôle de la Qualité (BBN), Centre National de Technologie Alimentaire (CNTA), Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Burundi (ISABU), Office du Thé du Burundi (OTB) and Office de Régulation de la Filière Café du Burundi (ARFIC).

In this regard, ITC is seeking the services of an experienced vendor to supply laboratory equipment to the above mentioned entities. The equipment is divided in 12 lots. The vendors must submit complete offer for each lot.

The equipment may include amongst others AAS, HPLC, GC-ECD/FID, microwave digester, water purifier, PH meter, standards, certified reference materials and reagents…

The ideal service provider/supplier should comply with the following:

1. The Supplier shall propose at least 12 months warranty for some of the equipment.
2. The Supplier should be able to designate a qualified local agent based in Burundi, Bujumbura, or very closed to Bujumbura which could be contacted for supply of the spare parts/maintenance/servicing /repair.
3. The supplier is required to install and commission (switch on/connect up) some of the equipment.
4. The supplier is required to include training on the basic maintenance for some of the equipment.
5. The supplier is requested to accept the UN Conditions of contracts for the provision of goods and services.
6. The supplier must prove experience and ability to deliver the goods and services in this geographical zone.
7. The supplier must have available and qualified team to provide the services.

ITC reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Please note that only those companies considered qualified by ITC for this project will be invited to participate in this procurement exercise.
