Description
1. The UN Environment Programme, Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (hereafter the “UNEP/SCBD”) through this Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks to establish non-exclusive contract(s) with qualified company(ies) for the provision of international mail, document and package delivery services. 2. These delivery services shall include, but not limit to: a. urgent/time critical delivery; b. express/time definite delivery; and c. any other cost saving delivery programs. 3. The scope of work shall include delivery of mails, documents and packages: a. originating from the UNEP/SCBD offices located in Montreal, Canada to locations outside Canada (please note a significant majority of the volume of shipments fall into this category) b. originating from the UNEP/SCBD offices located in Montreal, Canada to locations in Canada c. to be delivered to the UNEP/SCBD offices located in Montreal, Canada from locations outside Canada; d. originating from locations within the United States and Canada to locations outside the United States and Canada; e. to be delivered to locations within the United States and Canada from locations outside the United States and Canada; and f. between locations outside the United States and Canada. 4. It is envisaged that the contract will be used by the UNEP/SCBD on an "as and when required" basis. 5. Total number of deliveries and weight (where available) for Year 2016 are summarized below: Express/Time Definite Delivery Mail Operation Unit (MOU) - Number of Shipments (pieces) 200 - Total Weight (kilo’s) 250 TERMS AND CONDITIONS 6. UNEP/SCBD does not guarantee that a minimum or maximum number of shipments will be dispatched each year or for the life of the resulting contract. There shall be no obligation for UNEP/SCBD to guarantee any monetary value or order any minimum amount of the Services from the resulting contract either. 7. The initial contract term will be for two (3) years, with the option to extend for three (2) additional one-year periods at, the sole discretion of UNEP/SCBD, under the existing terms and conditions 8. UNEP/SCBD reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or negotiate with any Proposer. UNEP/SCBD also reserves the right to split the award between any vendors or award the same service/service category to multiple vendors in any combination as it may deem in its best interest.
