RFQ GFATM 01Rev-2014, Supply and Installation of Off-grid Photovoltaic Systems to power ART Health Clinics in Zambia. NOTE Clarifications and extension of deadline for submission of offers posted

UNDP is presently acting as the Principal Recipient of Global Fund against Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis, funded grants in Zambia.

In the framework of implementation of one of these grants, UNDP is supporting the Ministry of Health (MoH) with the procurement, supply and installation of a network of modular prefabricated ART Health Clinics covering the entire country. 39 of such clinics have been installed over 2014.

Additional funding has now been approved to proceed with procurement, supply and installation of a small number of PV Systems to provide energy generation to a small number of these clinics, erected in sites with no grid connectivity.

As stated in this RFQ, it is UNDP’s intention to award a contract for the supply and installation of 3 PV Systems in Kazembe Clinic, Mpepo Health Centre and Mulekatembo Health Centre. All 3 ART health clinics are presently functional.

However, should the evaluation of technically responsive RFQs conclude that only 2 systems can be procured and installed, within the available budget, priority will be granted to the Kazembe and Mpepo sites. It is therefore that vendors have been requested to quote unitary transportation and installation costs in response to this RFQ.
