The United Nations Office for Project Services (hereinafter referred to as UNOPS) is pleased to invite competent Bidders/Contractors to submit their respective competitive bids for the Construction of Eco-friendly Latrines in Ten Primary Schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in accordance with the UNOPS General Conditions of Contract and the Technical Specification/“Scope of the Works (SoW)” herein uploaded under “Document” TAB.

Tender cancelled on 2020-10-08 13:24 UTC. Dear Bidders; Greetings from UNOPS Ethiopia! This is to kindly inform you that the captioned ITB has been formally cancelled due to the revision of both Technical Evaluation Criteria as well as documentation requirements to deter possible ambiguities in due course bid evaluation. Hence, it is decided to re-tender once again as per the prevailing UNOPS policy. Please note that the direct invitation will be sent sent under ITB/2020/16319 to all bidders, which either submitted their respective bids and/or showed interest under ITB/2020/14945. Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our indebtedness for your interest and all efforts you put forth as per the bid solicitation request. New clarification added: Dear Bidder; Greetings from UNOPS Ethiopia! We hereby extends our gratefulness for your interest on the captioned ITB and request for clarification. Kindly refer the clarification for your request as follows:Request: Reference is made to the addendum issued on June 16, 2020 regarding application of United Nations Operational Rate of Exchange (UNORE). As per the addendum issued, it indicates that a Measured Price Works Contract in ETB as per the prevailing United Nations Operational Rate of Exchange (UNORE) at contract signing date will be issued to the winning construction company. Does it mean that all rates quoted in USD on the BOQ will be exchanged to ETB and the contract will be prepared in ETB accordingly? Please clarify.Clarification: As it is lucidly indicated under addendum ref. no. 01/ITB/2020/14945; the priced BoQs in US$ of winning bidder will be exchanged to ETB as per the prevailing UNORE at contract signing date and the contract will be prepared in ETB accordingly. Kindly refer the clarification for your request as follows:Request: The RFP is requiring enough time for preparation. We need to conduct realistic assessments and tests to come up with recommendation and realistic proposal. Especially Interlocking Compressed Stabilized Earth Block (CSEB- Hydra form) raw material sources and respective sites are demanding legal procedures, sample collection and tests to recommend and use them sustainability. This is therefore; we are kindly requesting time extension to allow us enough time for proposal preparation.Clarification: We regret to inform you that UNOPS doesn’t have any intention to extend the bid closing period. Reference to the prevailing UNOPS policy, sufficient bid preparation time has been given in consideration of the Scope of the Works (SoW). Hence, all bidders hereby are strongly advised to effectively manage their respective time and summit competitive bids on or before the submission deadline. We are hoping this clarifies your request. Kindly refer the clarification for your request as follows: Request: On Bill Nr.2 Toilet Building under Financial offer; Item Nr. 2.7 (Formwork in 100mm thick ground floor slab) is placed under the wrong work description, hence it should be placed under Concrete works description. So we request your clarification.Clarification: Item 2.7 of Bill Nr.2 refers to C-25 Concrete works NOT formwork. Hence, it should be corrected as “Concrete works in 100 mm thick ground floor slab”. This addenda, therefore, serves as winning Construction Company under the captioned ITB will be issued Measured Price Works Contract in ETB as per the prevailing United Nations Operational Rate of Exchange (UNORE) at contract signing date.
