Description
UNICEF provides counselling to mothers and caretakers on good nutrition practices for young children through country programmes worldwide. In 2018, UNICEF reached more than 23 million mothers in > 40 countries globally. UNICEF Supply Division is currently working on a complementary Feeding Bowl and spoon that can accompany counselling programmes and provide a practical translation of nutrition messages to inform parents and caregivers about the ideal quantity and quality of food for their children. In order to ensure locally produced and culturally acceptable Complementary Feeding Bowls, UNICEF is requesting Expressions of Interest from eligible suppliers worldwide in preparation for a tender exercise for complementary feeding bowl prototypes that can be piloted in country programmes prior to potential scale up worldwide.
The products identified fall under the following categories:
Category 1: Bowls/spoons of food-grade plastic (e.g. Melamine or Polypropylene)
Category 2: Bowls/spoons of other durable and environmentally friendly material (e.g. bamboo, rice husks etc.).
